Contribute

We welcome considered contributions that help readers see gardens with fresh attention. Send a concise proposal through the Contact page; please do not submit a complete article unless we have agreed to review one.

What we are looking for

Pitches may explore garden design and forms, seasonal plant observation, garden history, visiting and looking, or the customs surrounding gardens. We are interested in pieces with a clear subject and a reader-friendly purpose, whether they explain an idea, compare distinct approaches, trace a history, or offer a thoughtful way to observe.

A useful pitch

Tell us the proposed angle, what a reader will understand or notice by the end, and why the subject suits Local Garden Journal. Mention the kind of sources you expect to use for historical or factual claims. Keep the proposal focused, and flag any relevant interests or relationships.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial enquiry option. Include a brief description of your experience with the subject, but do not imply credentials or access you do not have. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time.

Our point of view

A garden rewards a second look

We believe that noticing a garden closely is its own pleasure. There is always another line, leaf, or old idea to discover.
